GDPR: Chapter III, preparation for trilogue (Presidency's compromise suggestions)

Note from Presidency to Delegations dated 4 September 2015: Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation) - Chapter III, preparation for trilogue (with Annex: four column table which reflects the Commission proposal, the European Parliament's first reading position and the Council's General Approach as well as compromise suggestions):

Taking into account the General Approach reached on 15th June 2015 which constitutes the basis of the negotiation mandate for the Presidency, taking into account the discussions at the DAPIX meeting of 2nd September 2015, as well as considering the European Parliament’s position on Chapter III, the Presidency has put together compromise suggestions in the 4th column of the document in annex with a view to the next trilogue. The Presidency invites delegations to share their views on these suggestions.
3. The Presidency wishes to underline that provisions relating to the processing of personal data for archiving purposes in the public interest or for scientific, statistical and historical purposes are to be discussed as they appear in Chapter III, notwithstanding further discussions on related issues in Chapter IX at a later stage. [...]
